Updating the HelpDesk via the war file

1 – Download the appropriate war file (Windows or Linux) from our website at https://grouplink.com/customers/ehd-downloads-2 and rename to ehelpdesk.

2 – Stop tomcat service, remove old war file and ehelpdesk folder from tomcat/webapps directory. Temporarily place them in safe location. It is important that you remove the old war file and ehelpdesk folder from webapps, otherwise this can cause issues with the helpdesk.

3 – Place new war file in tomcat/webapps. Start tomcat service. This will create a new ehelpdesk folder. Wait a few minutes to allow war file to deploy.

4 – Replace jdbc.properties and license.lic from old ehelpdesk folder and place in new ehelpdesk folder. Place file in same location. File location:

Windows:

\Program Files\GroupLink\everything HelpDesk\tomcat\webapps\ehelpdesk\WEB-INF\classes\conf

Linux:

/opt/GroupLink/everything HelpDesk/tomcat/webapps/ehelpdesk/WEB-INF/classes/conf

These files are your database connection information and license file.

5 – Restart tomcat.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Note: ehelpdesk is the default war file name.  If you named the war file to something different, then that's what you need to rename the file to.
