How to get Dashboards to work in Java 7

This article addresses steps required to get eHD Dashboards working in Java 7.

Changes introduced in the latest Java 7 updates may cause problems with Dashboards. Here are the errors you many encounter and the steps to work around them.

You may encounter the following error:
java.io.IOException: Cannot find cached resource for URL

To fix this error, on the client machine, go to the Java control panel, General tab, under "Temporary Internet Files" click settings, and uncheck "Keep temporary files on my computer".

Another error you may encounter is about the "Java security settings not allowing self-signed applications to run". To fix this, on the client machine, go to Java control panel, Security tab, and add the site, including port if applicable, you're opening the dashboards from to the "Exception Site List". For example, http://support.grouplink.net
